Luxury Body Care

Hi Sweets,

Who doesn't like to pamper herself, himself every once in a while after a long day? I wasn't such a big fan of lathering on the lotions and oils after taking showers, but now that I have done it for over half a year, I can clearly notice a difference in my skin. The nice side effect is that it is like a little spa treatment which you can do from the comfort of your own home. You don't have to worry about bumping into your neighbor or colleague looking like a steaming strawberry.

Here are the two luxurious products I am absolutely loving at the moment and can totally recommend to you.

L'occitane's 'Firming and smoothing supple skin oil' is quite the mouthful. I just call it 'Almond Oil'. I am a huge fan of their almond range and have used their face cream until it was discontinued. Their shower oil and body milk are currently living in my bath room. As far as the oil; a little goes a long way. You really don't need much. It is absorbed in the skin nicely and the scent is the same as all the other almond products from L'occitane. I am using this mainly on my growing belly and that is an area which I completely neglected in the past. This oil does really keep my skin moisturized and ready for the months to come.

Laura Mercier's Body Souffle in 'Ambre Vanille' is one of the most gorgeous scents ever. I've fallen in love with this last year when I was touring with EPICA in North America. In America they are very generous when it comes to handing out samples. After seeing the price, I first got a sample. It is quite the investment, so you really have to love it in order to splurge. You can buy these also in a set. I got mine in a set which I bought together with friend. Like this they are not too expensive. You can guess which is the other scent that I have in my closet.

I normally like to eat vanilla pudding, but nothing vanilla scented. It often triggers headaches or stomach roller coaster rides, but not this. It is divine! I use this very sparingly, more like a perfume. I like to rub it on my wrists, arms and neck so I can enjoy the scent without 'wasting' the product and giving everybody else a headache. The scent is quite strong and lasts really long. For a body lotion it can become a bit overwhelming. When I sum everything up, it looks more like I bought this for the scent. There are definitely better body lotions out there that won't kill your wallet.

Whenever I am using a body lotion to actually moisturize my whole body, I use a drugstore body lotion from Balea. It is inexpensive and still my favorite body lotion. I have gone through about 10 of those already over the last couple of years and will be repurchasing it for as long as I like it.

Hope this was helpful. Let me know what your favorite luxury body care products are!

Love,

I use only a body moisturizer called ''All Day'' by Natura. Is perfect for my skin. I cannot use oil because my skin is oily. And here where I live, is hard to find good produts for my skin. All Day is perfect, have a perfume of Red fruits.

  4. I loved to use the Neutrogena body oil (to use out of the shower) especially when I was expecting. One version is scented and the other one is not, but it's the same product. It's made from sesame seed oil. And now I've recently been using the Eucerin Skin Calming Daily Moisturizing Creme. It keeps the skin nice and glowing all day. These may be American brands... not sure. I also take a dietary supplement called Evening Primrose Oil. Maybe you've heard of it, but it's like a vitamin and you can probably find it in health food stores. Then again... my doctors always got fussy about such things during pregnancy :/ so maybe afterwards. It's lovely!

  5. I use rosehip oil to moisturize my skin, as treatment is very good since it also repairs skin and regenerates. in my country, Chile, rosehip abounds so it's very easy to find their products in all stores. Simone tried this product? I hope you have a chance to do :)

Hm, I like to use either Lush's Vanilla Delight body lotion, especially during the summer months. In winter I like the Body Shop's body butters a lot. They are a bit too rich though for summer, when my skin isn't that dry. And when it comes to luxury, well, I have a Estee Lauder body lotion, but it has the same scent as their Sensuous perfume, which is a bit too strong for me as a body lotion.

  8. I use E-45 cream. I'm not sure if it's the same kind of product as these. I use it after shaving as I don't use shaving cream, I never get shaving rash when I use it. I also used it when I was young, it always prevented me from having any spots. Does this make me a metrosexual?

  10. This got me very curious what it smells like! I think it's quite hard to find a product with a good vanilla scent to it. Usually vanilla scented things are either really nice or really horrible. I like my vanilla scented handcream from the body shop, but unfortunately it's a limited one. As for body care The Body Shop is probably the luxuriest thing I have. The Body Shops Satsuma body lotion smells like lovely oranges, I've been loving that one a lot lately.
P.s. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I'm sure this must be a most wonderful time!

  13. It has the most amazing scent and feels so good on your skin. It leaves no residue and doesn't make your skin look dry like some dry oils do.
