SMOONSTYLE

New Year's Eve calls for lots of sparkles! Glitter pigment, glitter liner, anything sparkly will do! Now is the time to experiment with makeup, even if you are staying at home.

I love to use glitter for stage looks as well. It catches the light beautifully. My favorite glitter has to be from Makeup Forever. They look like little mirrors. In order for them to stay put, I use eyelash glue as a sticky adhesive. They are hard to get off the eyelids and are not made to put on top of the eyes, but I do it anyway ;)

For my latest Make up Monday I created a glittery smokey eye. I promised to enlist all the products that I used, so here we go!

Shiseido Tea House kajal

Urban Decay Moondust Palette 'Granite'

Linda Hallberg Cosmetics Spectral Palette 'Illusion'

Mac Cosmetics ' Reflects Antique Gold'

L'Oréal Paris Signature Matte liner + Le Liner Brown Denim + Voluminous Mascara Waterproof + Brow Artist 'Brunette'

Viseart Neutral Mattes Eyeshadow Palette

Ardell Lashes Medium

Dior Backstage Glow Face palette 001

Linda Hallberg Fantastick 'Famous'

What do you do when you have a friend visiting that is also a blogger? That's right! You got outside to take some pictures. My friend Johanna came to visit a month ago (before the Lockdown).

She took lovely photos of me when we were in Cannes in 2018 together with L'Oréal: Polka Dots in Cannes I love her energy and foremost patience when it comes to taking photos.

We were so lucky to be able to spend some time together. We basically just ate delicious food and talked about many things. We might also have had too many gin tonics ;)

Outfit Details

Dress - Asos Design
Leather Jacket - Bodaskins
Sunglasses - Ray-Ban Meteor

What is your favorite cocktail? I love gin tonics. Johanna brought gin and the tonic. I only had to add ice. Do you drink it with cucumber? I have to confess that I also drink gin without the tonic ;)

A new 'Makeup Monday' is now live on my IGTV. This time, featuring the KVD Vegan Beauty stunning 'Lolita por Vida' palette'. This palette has been on my wishlist for such a long time! The main reason why I bought this is because of one eyeshadow: Sonrisa.  I thought it was a bit over the top to buy a whole eyeshadow palette for just one eyeshadow.... So, I decided to wait and caved in when it was Glamour Shopping Week and bought it at SEPHORA

It turns out that I love more than just that one particular color. This is such a gorgeous and unique eyeshadow palette, unlike anything that I have in my collection. It made me fall in love with eyeshadows again. Even though we don't have any shows at the moment, I still like to experiment with eyeshadows and try not to do the same look every day.

At this moment when our eyes have to do the talking, it is the perfect time to accentuate them even more. So, dig out those fancy eyeshadows and start to experiment!

One of the best comments, when I posted this collage on Instagram, was, that I have watched too many realistic cake videos. I have never really seen one until Vincent told me about this kind of video. I must be officially old now...

My talented friend Daniela Glunz shot these photos at my house last year. We had the best time! It ended n a colorful face painting session. I had rainbows coming out of my nose every time I would blow my nose after that day ;)  I wish it would be possible to do more shoots together, but we live far apart and the C virus is making it impossible at the moment.

I have been working on my photography website and did some shoots in the meantime.
I think it is time to change things up a bit and throw in some non-black and white photos on my Instagram page as well. My heart still lies with black and white photography, but I feel that the market is oversaturated with BW photography.

Feel free to have a look at my photography page and contact me if you'd like to book a shoot with me someday when the storm has calmed down.

Stay safe!

This how I spend most of my time when I am online. On the couch, underneath my blanket, with my laptop.

However, I do miss being on the road and the current situation sometimes gets the best of me.
Here is what I do to make myself feel better during the days where I am not feeling all that great:

1. I start my day with a large glass of water to wake up my body and get my metabolism going.
After my breakfast, I jump in the shower.
My all-time favorite shower oil is the Almond Shower Oil from L'Occitane. This has been a favorite of mine for many years. I have the 500ml version and always buy the refills. Like this you save plastic ;) I have lost count of how many times I have repurchased this shower oil.

2. Next, I pick a cozy outfit. I love to wear the high waisted leggings from Les Lunes and an oversized sweater. Staying in my pajamas or bathing robe all day is very tempting, but I am less productive if I don't get dressed.

3. It is the colder time of the year, which means that I drink more tea!
My current favorite tea is a spicy chai with almond milk. So yummy! I love the Yogi tea and the Bengal Spice from Celestial Seasonings.
My favorite almond milk is the Rewe Bio Mandeldrink. I also use this to make my cappuccinos.

4. This next step is not a must, but I love it! Apply some red lipstick. Even if I don't leave the house, I still like to get ready. This has the same effect as getting dressed for me. I feel more motivated to be productive and feel more put together. Going outside with masks has taken away the joy of applying lipstick, I mean, why bother? That is why, when I am at home I do apply lipstick and preferably also a bright one.
The lipstick I am wearing here is '346 Scarlet Silhouette from L'Oréal Paris'.

5. As tempting as it might be to stay in bed with my laptop, I choose the couch. I also sit a lot at our dinner table and my office. But the couch is a great alternative ;) I find it is a good compromise between the bed and the dinner table. A laptop is portable, so I can change my office during the day. I am used to be at different places every day, I don't like to be at the same spot ;)

How does your home office look like? Do you prefer to work from home, or on a different location?

Hello lovely people!

Have you seen that I have joined the 'Reel Side' of Instagram? Well, not 100%, but almost ;)
I wanted to switch things up a bit on Instagram. I have been posting Instastories of me talking during the makeup application and I thought that it might be a bit tedious for some of you.

I tried the Reel function and I must say that I am loving it! It is so fun to create and I can show you some of my favorite beauty products, without taking too much of your and my time!

Besides the 'Reel Stories', I thought it might be nice to show you some of my favorite beauty products from one particular brand. Today I am showing you some of my favorites from L'Oréal Paris that I used in one of my Reels.

Glam Beige/Back to Bronze
This is my bronzer and eyeshadow in one. If I need to get ready in a short time, bronzer is always a great eyeshadow. The Glam Beige bronzer was a limited edition, but you can still find it online. I love it because it is great for lighter skin tones. Another alternative is to get a finishing powder, but in a couple of shades darker.

Age Perfect Cream Eyeshadow - 06 Precious Bronze
It is so easy to apply, super pigmented, and won't budge during the day. They come in many different shades and can be worn on its own or as an eyeshadow base. A little bit like the MAC Paint Pots.

Voluminous Waterproof Mascara
This is my favorite drugstore mascara! It lengthens, volumizes, and lifts the lashes. I always go for waterproof mascara, because that is what works best for my stubborn lashes.

Super Liner Perfect Slim
A very easy to use eyeliner with a felt tip. After many years of applying eyeliner, I still sometimes just don't get it right. This helps me create a feline flick in seconds. I store it upside down between my make up brushes to make sure that the tip always has some product in it.

Life's a Peach Blush
Peach blushes are my favorite and fit me best. They also make my blue eyes pop. A little tip; also apply a bit on your eyelids when you apply your blush, it ties your whole look together.

Color Shine - 656 Beige in the City
A warm nude with a slight metallic sheen to it. I love the scent of these lipsticks! It reminds me of the Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Shine lipsticks. It has a lovely fruity scent to it.

Let me know which brand you would like me to do next. I was thinking of Charlotte Tilbury, Natasha Denona, Mac Cosmetics, KVD Vegan Beauty, Linda Hallberg Cosmetics, Zoeva, Laura Mercier, etc.

Meet my new furry friends! Two super cute black cats. I don't know their names nor their owners. They are a bit on the chubby side, so I guess they weren't alley cats. They were very trusting and let me pet them for a while.

There is something special about black cats. I find them incredibly beautiful. I am not a superstitious person and rather think that black cats bring luck and joy ;) I fell in love with Thackery Binx from 'Hocus Pocus', back when I was a little girl.

Do you know that black cats are least likely to be adopted from animal shelters? I will take all of them if I only could. We got Minou from an animal shelter back in the day.

Luckily, our neighbor's cat Loki (who you see on my Instagram a lot), adopted us and all the other households around his house. We still get a lot of cat cuddles these days.

Are you also a fan of black cats?

Yesterday was Advent Sunday. That is when a lot of parents spend the day in the kitchen with their kids, making Christmas Cookies. Vincent loves to decorate cookies, but what he loves more is to eat the decoration. The cookies you see in the photos are the ones that I decorated. My little Gingerbread man broke so we ate his head and foot while we were working on the other cookies.

The recipe that I used is a generic sugar cookie recipe, but with cacao powder.

270 g Flour
50 g Baking cacao
120 g powdered sugar
pinch of salt
150 g cold butter
2 eggs

First, you mix the dry ingredients and then the eggs and butter. Mix fast so that the butter doesn't melt that much. Refrigerate for at least 40 minutes.

Depending on the size of the cookie you can bake them between 7-10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
The smaller cookies I backed for 7 minutes and the big for 10 ;)

I love to use all the colorful sprinkles and confetti. The metallic powder that I used for Vincent's spider cake, we also used to paint some of the cookies with.

We had so much fun! I am looking forward to the next cookie baking session with Vincent.

What are your favorite cookie recipes? Please share recipes in the comments!

Beige and camel and all the nuances in between have been THE trend colors of the spring of 2020. That doesn't mean that I can't wear it in autumn, right? ;)

The trend is still going strong and that makes me really happy, because the clothing stores are filled with beige jumpers, sweaters, trousers, jackets and more.

How do I rock the all beige look? Well, with a sweater dress of course! Beige trousers I like to stay away from, but like this, I still get the whole beige nude look that flatters my body shape the most. I like to combine it with my black coat from Mango (last year).

Do you have any beige-colored garments in your closet? I am selling some of my clothing items that deserve a new home:  www.vinted.de I will be adding more items soon.

Have a look, maybe you'll see something that you might like. Unfortunately, shipping is only within Germany.

Oops, I did it again. I told myself to not buy anymore lipsticks until the end of this year.... Look what I have done! Charlotte Tilbury made me do it :)

Stoned Rose next to Super Nude

Stoned Rose - Super Nude

Super Nude swatched on the lips

My holy grail product since many years is her 'Hollywoon Flawless Filter' in the shade number 4. I have gone through a couple of these bottles and recommend them to all of my friends that love glowy,  healthy looking skin. It is the perfect glow base for me to mix with my foundation and use as a liquid highlighter on top of my foundation. More photos of different shades: There She Glows

The only downside about this product is the packaging. It is too heavy and you can't get all of the product out of the bottle. It would be great if she could repackage it, or use a pump dispenser. Like this it is also more hygienic.

Two other products that I purchased, are the 'Filmstar Bronze and Glow' in the new mini size, and a K.I.S.S.I.N.G  lipstick in the shade 'Super Nude'.

The Bronze and Glow duo I have in the original size. It is a great product, but a bit on the pricy side (€65,00 22,50 g of product). The mini retails for €30,00 and you get only 7g of product.
It is less value for money, but still I like it more for traveling (when I will travel again haha) because the packaging is smaller and light weight. The bigger sister is heavier because the packaging is made out of metal and the smaller is made out of plastic. You can always first buy the mini, and if you love it, you know you are ready to make a bigger investment and buy the original size. The original also comes in two shades, light to medium and medium to dark.

I have already made a post of me applying the bronzer and highlighter.
You can find it here: Bronze and Glow

Now, let's talk about the lipstick. It is amazing! I fell in love with it at it's first application. The Kissing formula is my favorite along with the Superstar Lips. It reminds me a bit of a more opaque and long lasting version of my all time favorite 'Whole lotta Honey' from CLINIQUE.

I have compared my other favorite CT lipstick, Stoned Rose, next Super Nude. Stoned Rose is more peachy and Super Nude is a nice deep nude with mauvy undertones. Normally, I don't wear mauvy lipsticks, but this just works really well with my skin tone.
These lipsticks are expensive, but amazing quality and they last you a long time. Stoned Rose has also been a lipstick that I have been recommending to many of my friends and it somehow is a shade that suits all skin tones.

Price €32,00

Overal I am really happy with my purchase. There are some real treasures in the Charlotte Tilbury line.
Would you like me to do a 'Hits and Misses' brand overview? I have collected quite a lot of her products of through the years ;)

The time has come to open our closets and bring out the warmer outfits! The summer dresses are making way for the sweater dresses. A cozy and super quick outfit that will come in mini, midi, and maxi lengths.

For my body type, which is the hourglass, I go for either a maxi or a mini sweater dress. It is the most flattering. It hast the cinched in the waist, otherwise, I will look like a sack of potatoes ;)

I am trying to slowly move away from wearing black all the time. You'll find a lot of black sweater dresses in my closet, but not many colorful ones. So I surfed the internet (not much fun going shopping at the moment) and found this super cute sweater dress, which comes in different colors and lengths as well.

What did I just say, move away from black? Since I love this dress so much, I also ordered one in black haha! You can never go wrong with black, can't you?

Do you guys like to wear sweater dresses? Which brand of tights do you like to wear? My go-to tights are from Calzedonia.

You can get the dress here:

Last week Oliver and I were wrapped up in his music studio, recording 'This is Halloween' from 'the Nightmare before Christmas' movie. Is there anybody out there that doesn't know this movie? Shame on you ;)
It is one of my favorite movies of all time. I've watched it a million times and will never get sick of it. It is perfect! Vincent loves it too!

When I asked Oliver if he would be willing to cover 'This is Halloween' with me, he immediately went to his studio to start with the orchestral arrangements. I can tell you it was so much fun to record this song! I loved singing those character voices.

Last year I received a wonderful present during our meet and greet. I got the whole 'Nightmare Before Christmas' metal figurines. I have displayed them in my living room and thought that it would be great to use them for the video as well. Thank you again to the girl that gifted them to me!

Thank you all so much for the lovely reactions, I've read all of them. Who knows, maybe I will upload more on Youtube soon ;)

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

The second phase of Autumn. All leaves change their colors into yellow, orange, and red. This color combination is pure bliss, a sight for soar eyes.

It is such an extraordinary time to throw on your walking boots and go outside for a long walk.
Take a deep breath and take in all the beautiful colors that surround us this time of the year. It almost feels as if we are inside a real life painting.

I adore the first weeks of autumn! Looking outside of my window, I see a myriad of gold, yellow, red, orange, and green trees. It truly makes me happy and I enjoy it immensely.

Such a pity that this phase of autumn only lasts for a short period of time. Luckily, I have my camera to stop time and dive into these colorful photographs.

Do you get to experience this glorious sight where you live?
