SMOONSTYLE

In the South of France, bloggers and vloggers where invited by Dessange to experience the luxury hair treatment along with some sight seeing in Cannes, delicious food and great company.

Founded in 1954, Dessange now has over 400 salons in 40 different countries. Germany will also be added to that list in September this year.
With five luxury lines that are targeted at the different hair types , Dessange wants to offer luxury hair products for you to use at home.

I am all for luxury hair treatments at home.
My hair is especially dry with an oily scalp. It is not easy to find a great match. On top of that, the water in my town has a high level of calcification which is the main reason why my hair is dry.
I was very curious to try out Dessange.

The journey started at the Dessange Summer House. We were welcomed by the team with open arms.
Lunch was provided by Björn Freitag, and may I say that it was divine! He provided our breakfast and dinners during our stay. I discovered some new flavor combinations and felt a bit like the rat in Ratatouille.

Soon after that we went to a hair salon from Dessange to get our hair treatment according to our hair type. Shampoos bubbling, hairspray in the room, blazing curling irons and blowdryers where working at full speed. About 17 girls needed to be styled in a short period of time.

We all woke up really early that day, so we went back to our hotel to freshen up for the BBQ that was also provided by Björn. Back to the Dessange Summer House to exchange beauty tips and camera specs, all whilst we enjoyed a perfect barbecue during a lovely summer evening.

The next day we had a Yoga class with Bettina Hartmann. Such a lovely lady that exudes expertise and passion for her work. I was pleasantly surprised by yoga. The next day I felt some some soar muscles, which made me realize that I should do more yoga in order to train more muscle groups and also for the relaxation.

A delicious breakfast, with the best Bircher Muesli, soon followed after our Yoga sessions. I asked Bettina for some tips to help with my tensed shoulders. She was kind enough to show those to me.

Now we had time to freshen up and enjoy Cannes. Some of us went shopping, some wanted to chill at the sea side and others took pictures/shot videos for their blogs and youtube channels.

I forgot to take pictures and mainly wanted to visit the restroom and get some aspirin for my headache. Of course a little visit to two Sephoras had to be. If you are out with fellow beauty admirers, you are bound to find another new lipstick or blush.

That night we had our 'White Night Party' where all of us where dressed in white. Such a pretty sight that was! I loved all the dresses, but the dress that got me drooling was from Chrissie from the Edelfabrik. Absolutely stunning.

It was a lovely time in the South of France where I met new people and also bonded with some familiar faces. All unique and beautiful.

Thanks Dessange for inviting me! I had the best time!

A little bit of filming with my phone and an edit session with iMovie resulted in a mini BTS video of one of our photoshoots for The Holographic Principle album.

Since Blogger isn't displaying the video, I have to upload it to Instagram. Hope to have this issue resolved. Enjoy!

If you are looking for a great alternative to expensive make up brushes, Zoeva has your back. My all time favorite blending brush is the 227 soft definer. I need more of them to exchange all the 217 from MAC. Yes, I said it...

A new set is on the market. The lovely Rose Golden series has a new set: Vol.3. It consists of 8 brushes for the face and eyes. They come with a clutch that you can use for whatever you like. It is great to put the brushes in, but I like to put my eye shadow palettes in there when I travel. Like this they have that extra bit of protection from breakage.

The design is really beautiful. The rose golden handles are a sight for sore eyes. They are real eye catchers and can be distracting while applying your make up.

My favorites out of this set are the Fan Brush, the Face Focus and the Concealer. Never limit yourself to using the brushes according their name. I like to use the Concealer brush to apply creme eye shadow as well, the smoky shader for highlighter.

Another new item in the Zoeva family is the rose golden blush palette. Three shades to blush, highlight, and contour. For me they are also eye shadows – a great multi-tasking product with a sleek packaging, suitable for traveling.

Zoeva is now also available in German stores. On the website you can see which Douglas shops also carry Zoeva. Like this, you can swatch the colors and test the brushes.

Do any of you own Zoeva? Their cocoa blend palette is a must! I always have it with me when I am traveling.

The lyrics of the song "Dreamscape" were inspired by the masters of surrealism, Salvador Dali and Frida Kahlo. They are my top two favorite painters/artists. The movie Frida, starring Salma Hayek, also belongs to one of the movies that are very close to my heart. The actors, but most of all the story made an impression on me.

I believe that I am not the only artist that felt inspired by her. Other musicians as Coldplay and Florence and the Machine also were inspired by her. Even in the fashion industry she left her mark. Jean Paul Gaultier, Comme des Garcons, and many more saw her as a inspiration source.

During my stay in Mexico City for the Hell and Heaven Festival, I had the opportunity to go to her house where she lived with Diego in Coyoancan, which is now a museum. I was really excited to be in a place where she has been – where she created extraordinary art that was so unique.

To be in her "Blue House" and see the tools that she used to create her art, was marvelous. At the same time, I felt overwhelmed by the pain she had in her life. I could feel it radiating from her pictures and self portraits. The beds that she lied in, her death mask – it was a lot to take in.

I've made a lot of pictures, but have chosen to not show all because it might be too graphic and on the other hand, it would be nicer for you to see it in the flesh.

Have any of you been at the museum in Coyoancan? Which painters do you like?

Frida's make up.
Her scent.
Jean Paul Gaulier was one of the fashion designers inspired by the corsets Frida wore.
This is one of the mirrors she used for her self portraits.
This is such a tender picture. The way she holds the baby, it melts my heart.
