A Taste of the Past

by 15.9.11

Hi sweet peas,

This Blistex lip balm in the flavour 'Lemon and Rasperries' reminds me of the candy lipsticks which I loved to eat when I was little. I got this lip balm in the USA last year. I think it was a limited edition.
Does anybody know these candy lipsticks? Do they still make these?

The taste of it takes me back to the days that I spend on the play ground. I use it only for the flavor since the quality is not that great. Blistex has better products, but the taste of this one is just amazing.

I recently found a body spray by Bath and Body Works which smells like my very first perfume. More about that in another post.

  3. I don't know these candy lipsticks, it could be because I live in México and some products are limited in one region or country.

It's awesome to smell or taste something that reminds your childhood, is an unique sensation xD.

    Regards Simone!

Question: Have you ever tried Oriflame Cosmetics? I sell them here in México but the brand is Swedish, they are really good, if you ever tried it please post a review =).

  11. Hi Simone.
My daughter used to have some candy-like lip sticks like you described. I think it was called Lip Smackers (http://www.lipsmacker.com/productListing.php?id=4) made by Bonne Bell.
    Its worth a try :)

  12. Hi Simone, fist of all i really like your music and your voice. I'm really glad of you're work :)
I'll introduce myself: My name is Rita, i'm 17 years old and i live in Portugal (Lisbon). Yesterday i was on youtube and i found that your vocal range is G3-C#6, and i decided to see what was my vocal range, and i was surprised.. i found that my vocal range was E3-F#5.. But today i tried again and the highest note that i can reach is A5.. how is that possible.. I never took singing lessons.. And i'm only 17... I'm So Happy:) So, my question is : What type of voice do i have..? Is it a Mezzo-soprano, or a Soprano... ? Cause i don't understand.. :S

So, Hope you read my question, and i'd be so so glad if you could answer to my question :)

    Love,
    Rita xx

  14. Yay! I remember those candy sticks! I used to eat them too! Here in Brazil Avon still sells them. I don't know about the other countries but... Love from Brazil!

  15. Hey there!
I do have a Blistex lipstick too. Has really sweet taste.

Anyways, last time I went to a candy store, they had those candy lipsticks, the price was like 1€ for each. I'm from Spain, and as I said, they usually have those kind of lipsticks... at candy stores or at any kiosk. So the parents can buy them for their children when they buy their magazines!

  17. Hi Simone! You know, my fiancé used to have these sticks, here in Brazil Avon still sells it as Ana Elisa said. With this blog and some posts, i really became impressed with you, not by your exterior beauty (that is stunning, anyway) but remembering things like this stick shows how simple and trully you are inside! This is what make you really beautyful, 'cause this beauty born inside you, and lead us to love you! :)

    Lot's of affection from Brazil!

Yes, you're in luck! Both the Blistex and candies are available here in the US. Where could I ship some for you? Personally, I have EOS organic lip products - I have 5 of their tasty flavors. :)

  23. They still have them in Germany :) So if you are back there, I think they´re available in Stuttgart, too. Or in Wolfsburg if you´re there for another recording session. Hope you get some :) Whats your favorite taste of the candy lipstick?

    Love,

  24. Blistex is good. But I recommend you to try the natural ones instead of eating petrolatum (yuck!).
Try Burt's Bees Lip Balms which are my favorite! They are really %100 natural. They're not that candyish, but the feeling of the Beeswax is amazing. And if you like the real honey smell, the honey lip balm may be good for you also :)
