Prussian Sights

by 28.1.12

Hello Sweets,

On the 15th of January, we decided to do some sight seeing with our family. The South of Germany has many greats sights to offer and I am working really hard on getting to know my new 'home town' a bit better.

Here you can see 'Burg Hohenzollern'. It was build in the 19th Century for King Friedrich Wilhelm the 4th from Prussia. The castle lies on a mountain which is 855 meters high. You have a wonderful view over the mountains. It feels like you are in a fairy tale.

If you ever come to the South of Germany, I can totally recommend paying a visit to the Castle. The entrance is 5 euros for walking around the castle, if you want to enter and join a tour through the castle (which I totally recommend), the price lies at 10 euros.

I do want to warn you that even if you go in summer, the castle is extremely cold inside. Take a sweater with you and wear closed shoes.

Castle kisses,

Wow, looks stunning :) Some years ago I went to "Schloss Linderhof" in Bavaria. It's the smallest, but at least the most beautiful castle, built for King Ludwig II.
If you're interested: Go for it ;)

  12. You have to visit my hometown called Ulm. We've got the highest church tower in the world. Not as big as the one in Cologne, but higher ! 161,53 meters high with 768 steps.

  20. Wow, it's so well conserved! I'm a castle fan (ahah) wouldn't mind at all to visit that one!

You are going to play in Portugal in april, probably you will not have much time but if you do, you have to visit the Guimarães castle, the castle where it all started for the conquer of the territory that is now Portugal. It's about 40minutes driving from Porto and Guimarães is the european culture capital of this year... beautiful town. I really recommend a visit.
