SMOONSTYLE

Yesterday I played around with a brand new eyeshadow palette that I've bought a while ago.
It is the Soft Glam palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I sold my Modern Renaissance because I didn't think I would make use of it, so it now has a new home. The Soft Glam palette has more colours that suit me for day and night time.

First off, this palette has a lot of fall out. When I created the first look, I had already applied my base. Knowing about the fall out, I would now first do my eyes and then my base. The cleaning up took a while and I was also not really happy with how the look turned out. I decided to tone things down and  came up with this look.

Base

Revlon Colorstay 180 + 330
Tarte Shape Tape concealer Light Medium
Stila Convertible Camelia
Artdeco strobing cream (discontinued)
Catrice Blurred Lines loose powder (LE)
The Body Shop bronzer nr.1

Eyes/Brows

Maccosmetics Dirty Blond gel and Strawberry Blond pencil
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary brows in clear
ABH Soft Glam Burnt Orange
ABH Soft Glam Cyprus Umber as a liner
Maccosmetics Costa Riche on the waterline
Maybelline the Rocket mascara in waterproof

Lips

Revlon Ultra HB Gel lipcolor 'HD Sand 700'

Warm shades are the best fit for me. They suit my complexion the best and simply have my preference. A while back I introduced you to the ZOEVA Nude Spectrum eyeshadow palette.

Say hello to part two. This time I have included all the other goodies that were sent to me by Zoeva. I have created a bolder look with the warm palette because you suggested more color. Here you go!

Products

  • Estee Lauder Double Wear in 1w2 Sand
  • Wet n Wild 'Bare it all'  lipstick
  • Nude Spectrum Blush Palette 040
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills 'Starlight'

The colors that I used to create the eye look are 070, 080, 090, 120, 140, 150. To make the purple pop even more, I've used Graphic Eyes in 'Regency'.

Quite happy with how the look turned out. If you are a bit hesitant to wear bright colors, try to use them as a hint of color in your water line or the lower lash line.

Warm Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette €35
Coral Spectrum Blush Palette €17,80
Nude Spectrum Blush Palette €17,80
Crazy for the holographic design

Lime Crime has been a brand that I wanted to try since a very long time. Everybody raves about their Velvetines (liquid to matt lipstick). They were one of the first companies to release the liquid lipsticks. Now almost every brand has their own version of the liquid lipsticks.

I caved in and got some Velvetines along with the beautiful Venus Palettes, I and II. The colors in the first Venus palette are all to my liking. Since the beginning of Epica I have worn red toned eyeshadows. They just make blue eyes pop like crazy.

The palette contains 8 eyeshadows, they have a nice big size which makes me happy. I can love these for a long time.

  • Venus: Marsala (velvet matte)
  • Shell: Opalescent shell-pink (glow)
  • Aura: Pearlescent ivory (glow)
  • Creation: Rust brown (matte)
  • Icon: Dark brown (matte)
  • Rebirth: Nectarine (matte)
  • Divine: Dusty stone (matte)
  • Muse: Deep burgundy red (matte)
If you google the Venus Palette you may find good swatches. You know that swatching isn't my strong suit. Over all the pigmentation is really good. The colors are such a great break from all the nude palettes that are out there. I do love those too, I have to say. The most insanely pigmented of them all is 'Rebirth', such a gorgeous color! Venus and Muse are my favorites.

The palette retails for about $32. I got them on sale and made a good deal. I do think that they are worth the $32. The packaging is cute, but I prefer more travel friendly packaging like the Zoeva and Lorac palettes.

I created two grunge looks for you and also changed up the lipsticks. Have a look and tell me what you think! Would you rock red eyeshadow?

It is time for a lot of color! Spring makes everything colorful.

I know I have been wearing a lot of neutral make up looks, so I wanted to play around with my bright eye shadows and create a fun look for you guys.

This look was inspired by a MAC PRO Quad which I put together myself. I wanted to do a look that included all the colors. Because the eyes were so super colorful, I decided to go for a soft pinky blush and pink lips.

It kind of reminds me of a sunset on a meadow. Oliver said I looked like a canary haha! Little did he know that one of the eyeshadows is called 'Canary Yellow'.

- Used products -
  • Manhattan endless stay make up in porcelain (best drugstore foundation for oily combo skin)
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in light
  • Catrice 010 Blond but Brow'd 010 eyebrow pencil (discontinued) (insert sad face)
  • Milani Luminous baked blush
  • Mac Pro Canary Yellow e/s on the lid.
  • Mac Pro Orange e/s on the outer part of the crease.
  • Mac Pro Coral e/s blended in the crease.
  • Mac Pro Bio Green e/s on the lower lash line.
  • Mac Coffee eye pencil as an eyeliner.
  • Maybelline The Rocket waterproof mascara
  • Clarins 105 Peach Sorbet lipstick

I know that this look is not for everyone, but it is meant to wear for fun and to play around with make up ;)

After all those colorful make up looks for the Epica video and promo tour, I was up for a natural look that is created within 5 minutes and makes me think that I've slept more than just 5 hours.

I have been rocking this look all week with Burts Bees Rose tinted lip balm. Today I wanted a more peachy lip and searched through my collection.

The Look
  • Foundation - Manhattan's Endless Stay Make Up in Porcelain. This is my favorite foundation at the moment, it stays on all day, has a medium to full coverage and is super affordable.
  • Concealer - Estee Lauder Double Wear Camouflage (foundation and concealer in one, I just use it as an concealer) This is amazing!
  • Blush - Illamaqua 'Lover'
  • Lips - MAC Dressmaker Dressmaker (LE)
  • Mascara - Maybelline 'the Rocket'
  • Eyebrows - Catrice 010 (discontinued)

You are probably thinking, who would want to wear pink eyeshadow? I have been wearing pink eyeshadow since the beginning days of EPICA, onstage and in private. It really makes my blue eyes pop. The trick is to make sure that you have to conceal any redness in your face. The right concealer is key. Another tip is to line your waterline with a skin colored pencil.

I like to wear pink eyeshadows in the crease, combined with a lighter eyeshadow and a flicked eyeliner.  The black of the eyeliner also creates a barrier that prevents your eyes from looking like you've cried or had an allergic reaction.

Pink eyeshadow is fun and makes blue and green eyes pop out in the good sense. A little tip: If you don't own any pink eyeshadow you can also use a pink blush of your choice.

Products used for this look:
  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 51 and 52
  • Urban Decay Naked Virgin (inner corner highlight) Sin (on the lid)
  • MAC Supercontinental as blush and crease color
  • Black eyeliner
  • Diorama 066 lipstick
  • Maybelline Falsies mascara
  • Catrice 010 eyebrow pencil
  • Manhattan clearface powder 77 Natural

Bronzer has always been a product that I skipped in my make up routine. I thought that fair skinned can't really rock bronzer, but I was wrong! I use bronzer for several things now. For instance: my eyebrows, my crease, as a blush or if I want to warm up my skin.

I only own two bronzers and both are miniatures, Laura Mercier's Dune Bronzer and Nars Laguna bronzer. Both work great for my brows, but LM's has a nicer consistency. Nars' is very dusty, and I don't know if that is because it is a sample?

Products used for this look
  • Diorskin Forever 020
  • Kryolan Dual Finish Powder W3/W4
  • MAC NC20 studio finish concealer
  • MAC Paintpot Quite Natural
  • MAC Mulch eyeshadow
  • Black eyeshadow
  • Bobbi Brown Longwear Gel Liner in Sepia Ink
  • Maybelline False Lash Mascara Waterproof black
  • Nars and Laura Mercier bronzers on the cheeks and face
  • Revlon Colorburst Soft Nude as a base and MAC Posh Tone on top

Hi Sweets,

Here is the last 'Face of May'. This look is not a typical spring summer look for me, but I wanted to wear a smokey eye that was suitable for the day time. As usual you can find the products that were used to create this look below.

  • Diorskin Forever foundation mix between 010 and 020
  • MAC studio finish concealer NW 20 and NC 20
  • Catrice eyebrow pencil 010
  • Maybelline Bad to the Bronze color tattoo
  • Urban Decay Naked and Buck in the crease
  • Kryolan ebony cream liner
  • Kryolan coral creme blush
  • Maybelline the Rocket mascara
  • Revlon mauve it over matte lipstick
  • Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream on top of the lips

For June I will create a couple of looks which are inspired by movies. You can let me know which looks you would be interested in. One thing I can tell you already, I will definitely do a 'Tim Burton' look.

Looking forward to read your suggestions!

Love,
