SMOONSTYLE

Doesn't this look feels like spring? I am ready for spring, winter move over!

Do you remember the days where I wore bright pink eyeshadow onstage? Must have been 10 years ago! Time flies! Reds, oranges and pinks were always one of my favorite bright colors to make my blue eyes pop.

One of my favourite pink eyeshadows was 'Bright Fuchsia', a pigment from Mac Cosmetics (very messy to work with). I still have it and even though I haven't used it in a while, I can't seem to part ways with it.
Back in the day (yes, I know I sound like a grandma), MAC had bigger and more travel friendly packaging for their pigments. You would get 7,5 gram compared to the 4,5 grams you get nowadays.
I will probably never finish this pigment and can pass it on to my great grand children ;)

The color on my lids is from Natasha Denona's new palette called 'Bloom', a gorgeous blush and glow palette. At first when I started playing with it, I started with the softer shades, but when I swatched the cream blush shade, I felt the urge to put it all over my eyes. The texture is insane. It is not like a greasy cream blush, more like a cream to powder with a cool touch. The texture reminds me a bit of the Color pop eyeshadows.

I topped my eye look off with Linda Hallberg Cosmetics 'Infinity Glass', which is a holy grail product for me. Glossy, but not tacky. I love a good multi purpose products and the Infinity Glass definitely is all of that.

I exchanged my pajamas for a pink dress and then the whole look was complete.
On my lips I am wearing MAC COSMETICS Half n' Half.

I couldn't resist swatching these colors. My camera wasn't fast enough ;)

Natasha Denona is an internationally renowned make up artist. She is also know for her outstanding make up products that are one of the best quality products out there. Her most popular products are her eyeshadow palettes. A lot of people are put off by the price tag, but I can assure you that you are getting good value for money. I own the Gold Palette and you get 15 eyeshadows that each weigh 2.5 grams, a total of 37.5 gram.

The cute palette that I am showing you here is one of her many mini eye shadow palettes. I saw them at a Sephora store while I was in the USA. I had to refrain myself from buying them all.
The colours that I use the most are nudes, so it was an obvious choice for me to go with that one.
You get 5 colours for $25, 2 metallics, two mattes and one duo chrome. The are all delicious!

I just did a simple day time halo look using Quoin in the crease, Sienna in the inner and outer corner and Lumino in the center of the lid. Sienna I can recommend you to apply it with your finger to get the best result and least fall out.

You might know that I am the swatching queen, NOT ;) For more accurate swatch photos, please visit Natascha's Website: NATASHA DENONA

Overall I really love this palette. If you don't want to invest in one of her bigger palettes, this is a great way to get acquainted with the brand without breaking the bank.

Whenever I buy new make up, it is mostly never eyeshadow palettes because I already own so many and will never use them up. However, a good quality brand I am always interested in trying and Natascha Denona made me really curious. I am glad I did go out and bought them. Now I do really want the other mini palettes. They are so convenient to travel with as well.

Do any of you have any Natascha Denonan products?

Hello 34 years!

This year my birthday lasted much longer than it normally does, because I was in LA with L'Oréal Men Expert while I had my birthday. My lovely colleagues from L'Oréal got me flowers and cakes. My friends and family from Europe send me lots of videos and text messages.

It felt nice to know that many people think of you on your 'special' day. It also made me realise that I have so many wonderful people in my life that care about me. You tend to forget that when you are busy with thousand things. Presents are nice, but what is more valuable to me is when someone gifts you their time and attention.

I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write me birthday messages and making short Instagram videos. I've seen them all and they warmed my heart! You are the best!!!

Thank you!

xo

Happy New Year everybody!

I hope you had a wonderful time during the holidays. Did you guys also eat a lot?
The night before New Years I slept really bad so I had a hard time staying awake until midnight, hence the photo of me with the NYE party hats and espresso on Instagram. I was trying to depict a NYE Espresso demon.

A couple days before we made the switch to 2019, Jen Majura, guitarist from Evanescence, came to visit me at my studio for a portrait photoshoot.
We officially met in the summer of 2017 in Greece. We played together on a festival. We stayed in touch ever since. Last year we met again when she played in Stuttgart. She said she is from around the area, so I thought we could hook up for a coffee some day.

That coffee turned out to become a make up session and photoshoot. To warm up we had a drawing session with Vincent. He really liked Jen and I must say she is great with kids!

After we were done drawing crabs and unicorns, it was time to shock Jen with my make up collection. We found out that we both have the Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadow palette. A favourite from both of us.

For the start of the shoot I wanted to do a soft smokey eye with a neutral lip. This photo is black and white, the make up is not that visible. If we would have extra time, we would switch it up a bit. In the end we ran out of time, mainly because we had such a good time just chatting about our lives as traveling musicians.

Her idea was to look different than what people normally expect from her. A little bit more toned down in every aspect. Her choker should be in focus. On this photo it is not haha, but on the others it is.
Whenever I do portraits, I like the clothing to not be too distracting. Less is more and neutral colours without prints work best in my opinion.

Jen filmed our session which you can find here: JenJen and Simone

Thanks Jen for being my model, spending time with us, drawing unicorns and sipping coffee!

Ps. What do you think Jen was thinking about during this shot. I think it was Thai Food ;)

Perfume is more than just a scent. To me it is strongly connected to memories. It is a powerful tool that enables you to relive those memories.
It can be like an armour,  make you feel strong, sexy, empowered and the list goes on. I think you can get my point.

The signature NIVEA scent is known all over the world. It's scent has accompanied many of us in our childhood. Oliver used to use the classic cream many years ago when we first met. I bought it just so that I could smell it, I never really used it.

The base notes of the NIVEA parfum are Lily of the Valley, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Freesia, Mandarin and Sandalwood.

To me it smells 'clean' if that makes any sense. It gives me the feeling of just coming out of the shower.

Oliver told me I smelled good. I told him it is the signature NIVEA scent. He normally doesn't like perfume, except for me secret signature scent. If I switch my perfume, he mostly doesn't agree and tells me it is giving him a headache haha!

I love this scent so much that I already got a back up from the Nivea website. They have a great offer at the moment where you get some extra goodies as well.

NIVEA SET

The making of these shots was quite challenging but fun. There are many outtakes of me pulling a funny face, because the perfume bottle fell on the floor. For a moment I thought about glueing it to my shoulder. I am glad I didn't do that. Kudos to Nivea to make a lovely and very sturdy bottle that survived this shoot.

Yesterday I played around with a brand new eyeshadow palette that I've bought a while ago.
It is the Soft Glam palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I sold my Modern Renaissance because I didn't think I would make use of it, so it now has a new home. The Soft Glam palette has more colours that suit me for day and night time.

First off, this palette has a lot of fall out. When I created the first look, I had already applied my base. Knowing about the fall out, I would now first do my eyes and then my base. The cleaning up took a while and I was also not really happy with how the look turned out. I decided to tone things down and  came up with this look.

Base

Revlon Colorstay 180 + 330
Tarte Shape Tape concealer Light Medium
Stila Convertible Camelia
Artdeco strobing cream (discontinued)
Catrice Blurred Lines loose powder (LE)
The Body Shop bronzer nr.1

Eyes/Brows

Maccosmetics Dirty Blond gel and Strawberry Blond pencil
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary brows in clear
ABH Soft Glam Burnt Orange
ABH Soft Glam Cyprus Umber as a liner
Maccosmetics Costa Riche on the waterline
Maybelline the Rocket mascara in waterproof

Lips

Revlon Ultra HB Gel lipcolor 'HD Sand 700'

A couple months ago I blogged about Jacks Beauty Line and introduced you the gorgeous brushes from Miriam Jacks.

She created two travel brush sets, containing all the brushes you need to create a complete look.

Who doesn't want a set of high quality brushes in a cute bag?  I know I want the pastel set :)
I fell in love with these tiny brushes.  Don't think that the quality might be less than original brushes. This is most definitely not the case. The only thing that is different is that the handle is shorter. The quality is just as amazing as with the normal brushes.

Berlin is a wonderful city, filled with wonderful people. If I know that I am traveling to Berlin, I make sure to drop by Shan Rahimkhan‘s hair salon at the Gendarmen Market to visit Roy. He is one of the few hairdressers I trust with my hair ;)

The salon is so gorgeous and the people working there are all really warm and welcoming and most importantly, they know what they are doing.

It is always a pleasure to have my hair done at Shan Rahimkhan’s hair salon. I always leave feeling glamorous and ready for the upcoming events.

First of all thank you for the lovely feedback on my HALLOWEEN video!! As promised, I have enlisted all the products that I've used to create his holographic skull/Catrina.

Creating this look was so much fun! Originally I wanted to do a smoky glittery skull look, but it ended in a 'Dia de los Muertos' Catrina look.

For this Halloween make up I didn't buy any new products, but 'shopped my stash'. I knew I still had some sequins left from a Pat McGrath purchase that I made a while back. I've kept the packaging with the sequins, because I knew that they could still be useful one day.

L'Oréal Infallible Sculpt foundation 'light medium' *
Catrice Blurred Lines loose powder (Limited Edition)
