SMOONSTYLE

As promised on Facebook, a little update from my baby bump. So far I've been blessed with a healthy pregnancy. Thanks to all of you for your lovely comments and wishes! Our baby has already been at several places around the world. A little world traveler, just like mommy.

The time where our little one will arrive is coming closer. Such exciting times ahead!

Coen is currently replacing Oliver in Kamelot during their North American tour. Make sure to check them out! Here are their Tour Dates.

What do you think it will be, a girl or a boy? Let me know in the comments!

It's time for another 'Beauty Bin'! I have been collecting some empty bottles for you to review. It feels a bit weird to collect 'garbage', but it shows a nice overview of what products that I have been using and I hope that I can provide some of you with useful information. In this BB I have only favorites, which means that they all will be repurchased at some time.

Balea Ultra Sensitive Cleansing Milk 200 ML
This is my morning routine. I take a euro sized amount in my hand and wash my face with cold water. A nice way to wake up! Also can be found in BB #2.

MAC Brush Cleanser 235 ML
A staple in my kit. I do use little travel sized spray bottles to not spill too much of the product. The cap often releases too much liquid and that can get messy. For a quick cleanse this is a great product.
When you want to deep clean your make up brushes, you can use baby shampoo or special brush cleansing soap.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin Intensive Treatment 150 ML
One of my favorite hair masks. If you don't like silicones, this might not be something for you. I find that it did wonders for my hair. It kept it soft and smooth. It is however, a very pricy hair mask.
If you want something similar for less money, get the Macadamia Oil Conditioner from Organix. You get double the product for a 4th of the price.

Eubos Sensitive Hand Creme 75 ML
Has and always will be my absolute favorite hand cream. A loyal companion for my hands since many years.

De Tuinen Aloe Vera Hydrating Body Milk 250 ML
This is my second favorite body lotion/milk. De Tuinen is a Dutch brand and can only be found in the Netherlands, if I am not mistaken. This is such a nice, cooling body lotion. Perfect for the summer. It leaves the skin really soft and hydrated and has a very subtle scent. The second bottle is already in use.

Cien (Lidl) Creme Shower Gel 300 ML
The home brand from the german supermarket Lidl. Absolutely amazing! Great scent and very moisturizing and super affordable!

Dove Go Fresh Granate Apple and Lemongrass mini deo spray 35 ML
Love the scent, but my whole bag smells like it now. Got to try it twice before it emptied in my bag and all my Fishermen's Friends tasted like Dove. It does smell better than it tastes. ;)

Maybelline Jade Water Proof Eye Make Up remover 125 ML
It did take care of my waterproof mascara without burning my eyes! Second bottle is already in use.

Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner 30 ML
A great companion during summer. I used this as a skin moisteriser and primer in one. My foundation stayed in place and I didn't get super oily during the hot hours during the day. The scent is very fresh. I liked it. Second bottle already in use as well.

Sensodyne Toothepast 75 ML
Also featured in BB #2. My current favorite tooth paste!

Kryolan Eye Cream 15 ML
A very rich eye cream that is easy to apply. You don't have to drag on your eye. A little goes a long way. My eyes didn't get an allergic reaction, it didn't leave a burning sensation. For day time I find it a bit too rich. My waterproof mascara did resolve a bit during the day. I used it as a night. Love the packaging, it's very sturdy. For traveling I recommend you to take a little plastic container instead of the original bottle.

This was Beauty Bin #3. Thank you all for your waterproof make up remover recommendations!
I did use some olive oil from Sicily to remove my mascara with. It worked well, but I still prefer to cook with it. ;)

Normally I am not the person to follow trends. If I see something I like, I will buy it.

As you all might know, I am a sucker for Ray Ban Aviators. When Ray Ban came out with the bright colored mirrored Aviators I had to try them.

In Australia I found them at several airports, unfortunately in size 58. I always wear 55. They are the perfect size for me. So I started surfing online. When I buy sunglasses I normally buy them at Sunglasses Shop but they only offer the 58m. Luckily Shadestation had the smaller sizes and offered them for a good price as well. Both shops ship super fast and have excellent customer service.

They also come in a red/orange mirrored version, but that one was my least favorite. It looks best on people with brown or blond hair. I found that it clashed a bit with my red hair. The blue mirrored Aviators have brown glasses and the green ones, purple. Both are super comfortable to wear.

Which one do you like more? Green or Blue? Let me know in the comments!

Kryolan send me their newest product: the Lip Stain in the color 'Rock'. After applying it it reminded me of the Velvetines from Lime Crime. Ultra matte and super long lasting. A beautiful saturated red that will look good on all skin tones.

The formula is amazing to work with. I can work well with the applicator, but you do need a little patience and a steady hand to begin with.

The Lip Stain is glossy to begin with but it dries matte. Unfortunately the color does come off and leaves a stain as well. Pretty pigmented stuff. Use it with caution ;)

At Magi Mania you can find a review of the Lip Stain, in German.

One of my absolute favorite recipes, and also from my guests, is my carrot soup. It is always a real, healthy treat. The recipe that I always use can be found on www.chefkoch.de. The only part I mostly skip is adding the celery. I also like to use yoghurt instead of creme fraiche.

What you need:
  • 500 gram carrots
  • 3/4 liter vegetable broth
  • one onion
  • one clove of garlic
  • 2 walnut sized pieces of ginger (I took one piece because my guests didn't like it to be spicy)
  • 1 lemon for the peel (you don't need to grate the whole lemon)
  • 1 spoon of honey
  • 2 to 3 spoons of yoghurt
  • Some butter, oil, pepper and salt
  • Some garnishment of your choice (I like to use tarragon leaves)

How to prepare:
  1. Cut the carrots like shown on the picture. Throw them in the pan with some butter.
  2. Add the onion, garlic and ginger. Let it simmer for about ten minutes.
  3. Once the vegetable broth is cooking, you can throw in the carrots, onion, ginger and garlic.
  4. Then let that simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Open the blender and throw in the carrots with it's friends. Add the grated lemon peal, yoghurt and honey. Some pepper and salt should finish it off and blend away.
Make sure to taste after it's been blended and add more of whatever flavor you like to be more present. Sometimes I add more lemon peal, sometimes more yoghurt or black pepper. Feel free to experiment! Serve and decorate with some tarragon leaves.

Enjoy!

My iPhone has gotten a new outfit. For a long time I had an iPhone purse as a case, but that was becoming a bit dirty and I was longing for a new look. I carried my phone without any case and didn't want to try my luck any longer. When these fall on the floor, they won't survive the fall.

I knew I wanted some fun colors and found these two from iprotect on Amazon.de. Very inexpensive and loads of colors to choose from. The cases are very light weight and fit snugly around the iPhone. For flash photography they aren't that great, but I never use the flash only for a torch and there it has the cool effect that the see through sides are lit as well.

So far I am still keen in the yellow case, the red one will be my color for fall.

Hi!

One of my favorite summer lipsticks is 'Diorama' 066 from the Rouge Dior lipsticks. It is a coral pink with a frost finish. Dior lipsticks are quite expensive, but this one is worth the money. It lasts really long and is super comfortable to wear. I normally don't like lipsticks with a frost finish, but this one looks so lovely and not old lady like. A fresh color that brightens up my summer days.

I've kept the eyes neutral and added a bit of MAC's Supercontinental blush which goes perfectly with Diorama.

The Bodensee is one of my favorite holiday destinations. It is only 90 minutes away from my home. It is perfect for spontaneous vacations. Whenever the weather is good, we'll head over there. This time we made a little round to Uhldingen, Unteruhldingen, Uberlingen, Schloss Salem and the Island Mainau. We did some relaxing and sightseeing. I like the balance between the two. I could never lie at the beach for weeks. Not that much of a tanning person. My oven gets overheated really quick.

We had a wonderful time! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy! If you are ever in Germany during summer, make sure to check out the Bodensee. There are so many beautiful places to visit.

Uhldingen.
Unteruhldingen. Leaving for the Island Mainau.
Beautiful Island Mainau.

The only shoes that fit me...
Giant flower duckies.

My favorite flowers with a little visitor.
Grass/Mountain Skulptures. Kind of creepy.
Can you see Oliver?
Art at Schloss Salem.
Mary Poppins in action.
Back in Unteruhldingen (daytime).
Sundown in Unteruhldingen.
