Last weekend we enjoyed the last bit of snow in our home town. One day later, the snow was gone! I froze my ass off for these photos haha! I wore a vest underneath the jacket (which you can't see)and my winter jacket on top after we were done shooting the photos. This lovely faux velour leather coat is too thin to wear in snowy weather, but I thought it fit the scenery really well. I am wearing the size M, it is an oversize design. Unfortunately, it is sold out. I had to do quite some online haunting to still get this one.

What do you do when you are in another Lock Down and can't go to the hairdresser?
Yes, that is right! Be your own hairdresser! I love to get ready in the morning to start my day with fresh hair. What I don't like so much is blowdrying my hair. I am also an 'airdry' person. I am just too impatient, I dislike the feeling of wet hair. Blow drying my hair always took up so much time....
Since a couple of weeks, I have been testing the Dyson Supersonic Blowdryer. I posted a video review on my IGTV: Supersonic Simons
My whole hair routine has been fastforwarded. It is so much more fun to dry and style my hair with the various styling attachments. I can now explore the curly girl method (without airdrying).
The diffuser attachment is so easy to work with. No more fumbling around trying the attach it to the hairdryer. The magnets work great, they are strong enough to hold the pieces into place, but at the same time it is easy to de-attach them and switch between different attachements.
The Supersonic is different to other hairdryers in many different ways. The digital motor is located in the handle. The gravity of the blowdryer is different. You will get used to that really fast.
The intelligent heat control takes care of your hair, you can dry your hair fast with no extreme heat.
It is incredible how strong this hair dryer is. I joked in my video that you can blow away your boyfriend when he is annoying haha. It really is capable of doing that.
It has 4 heat levels, 3 air flow settings and a cold shot button. The warmest heat setting is still nowhere as hot as generic blow dryers, which means less damage to your hair!
On top of all that, it is the most silent hair dryer that I ever used! Vincent loves it too, because it is so silent. When I am drying his hair, we can still talk to each other. Besides that he loves the beautiful high tech design. Of course, the eye wants something too, it is part of the whole experience.
How I use it
Dry my hair The highest heat setting with the gentle air dry attachment (you can see it in the video) or the smoothing nozzle.
Wavy Hair The lowest heat setting with the diffuser attachment. I use a curl defining cream and gently crunch my hair from the ends to the root of my hair.
Salon Blowout The highest heat setting with the styling attachment and a round brush. It has a smaller opening compared to the the smoothing attachment, which makes the airflow much stronger and concentrated. I use a smoothing creme for this look to help me achieve
Most of my hairdresser friends love the Supersonic as well. Now I can get similar results at home.
It is different when you have to do your own hair, but I tell you that practice makes perfect and getting that perfect blow dry is addictive!

After losing two cats, I became very cautious about becoming too attached to a new furry friend. Loki was our neighbor's cat but he loved to visit us almost every day. It was the perfect solution for us. No strings attached, just casual visits from our feline friend.
No matter how hard I tried to not get too attached and reminded myself how painful it is to lose a furry friend, I became very attached to him. He became a part of our family. Vincent also grew very fond of him, especially during the pandemic. They played a lot together with the rope that you see in the photo, or Vincent's bathing robe tie haha. He also loved to go crazy with hair ties as well.
Last week we found out that Loki was going to move away to a new house and it was at that very moment that when they took him away, that I ran into them. I was shocked and didn't really get to say goodbye or prepare for the fact that he was going to leave. Maybe it was for the better? Like ripping off a bandaid at the count of 2 instead of 3?
I love this picture that I took of him and I hope that he will be happy at his new place.

Our third single 'RIVERS' is finally released! It is one of my favorite songs from our upcoming new album 'OMEGA' and I love how the video turned out! It fits the song perfectly in my opinion.
The video was recorded in October in a studio close to my house and some scenes were recorded in Belgium shortly before we had our press day in the Netherlands.
Jens and I were the only ones in the studio. I had to do hair and make up and be my own stylist. I don't mind doing that at all. I enjoy the process of getting ready, playing with makeup and getting tangled between too many hair extensions. I suck at doing my own hair and am very limited. Thanks to Marino, I now have a little bit of experience with inserting hair extensions.
Heile also came by to say hi and he helped with the water scenes. He was the one that was pouring down the water that is flowing between my hands. Fun fact is that we used warm water and it felt like someone was peeing in my hands haha! You don't see me laughing in the background, luckily ;)
I gathered all the blue makeup that I could find in my collection and played around a bit until I was happy with the right shade. This means layering many products to created depth.
My first look was a blue glitter liner. I gradually build up the look by adding more blue eyeshadow and eventually creating a blue unibrow with MAC Cosmetics 'Clarity'.

For the last look where I went completely crazy with all the blues. I just took all the shades of blue eyeshadow that I could find and mixed them together with glitter using the Linda Hallberg Cosmetics 'Infinity Glass'. It was a nice bluey gooey mess in the makeup room.
We only had one chance to get the shot, because, with this amount of makeup that needed to be removed, it would have taken up a lot of time. Luckily we nailed it! We got the shot after the first take.

After the last shot, it was time for me to take off the makeup and apply a more natural look before getting some sushi. The silver leaves flakes I glued onto my neck with eyelash glue didn't want to come off.
I had dinner in the sushi restaurant, looking like a fish myself ;)

There is no established scientific link between the full moon and sleep patterns. How is it possible that I have difficulties sleeping during a full moon? I sleep with an eye mask, so I don't notice that it is brighter outside. The last time I couldn't fall asleep, it felt as if I had electricity coursing through my body.
Maybe it is because we wrote a song called 'Cry of the Moon'? ;)
Do any of you have this as well? I know that I am not the only one. Some of my friends have the same and also couldn't fall asleep until after 3.00 AM...
The jacket that I am wearing is from Promod and is faux fur of course. Do you remember the shoot in the Nürnberger Forest many years ago? Still love this jacket. Real-life polar bear ;)
What do you do to fall asleep when you have difficulties falling asleep?

Welcome to the first post of 2021! I thought it would be nice to do a little 'Christmas Recap' for you guys. Last Christmas was a bit different compared to the other years. We couldn't travel to the Netherlands to celebrate with my parents, unfortunately. We had a little Digital Christmas breakfast instead, which was very nice.
The days leading to Christmas were a bit hectic because Oliver and I were working on a Christmas Medley for my Youtube Channel. We loved doing the 'This is Halloween' video and wanted to do something special for 2020.
In case you haven't seen it: A Christmas Medley We took three Christmas classics and changed the lyrics to describe the year 2020. It is in German, but a lovely follower translated the lyrics in the comment section. However, in German, the rhymes work better ;) Oliver orchestrated and produced the whole song. It went live on Christmas Eve.
A little disclaimer: No toilet paper was harmed in the process. They were real toilet paper rolls but didn't end in the trash but in the toilet. We didn't waste any product ;) I was quite tipsy at the end of the filming session... I didn't waste any of the wine that I used to film the wine scene ;)
Our Christmas Eve, we did a super quick photoshoot (photo number 3 in the post) and finished the Medley video. Vincent performed some songs on the piano and his cousins danced happily during the his concert.
It was a very successful Christmas Eve. The kids loved their presents, but most of all loved spending time together. My outfit was a little black dress with poofy arms. My make up was simple, yet very sparkly. I used a glitter eyeshadow from Stila Cosmetics called 'Bronzed Bell'. Quick and effective :)
On the first day of Christmas, we had a digital breakfast with my parents. Vincent unwrapped some more presents and my parents also had a present. A 2021 calendar with photos from Vincent.
My outfit for the next two days was the very comfy Paul jumpsuit from Les Lunes that I bought during Black Friday week. With code simonesimons you can still get 44% discount. I loved that it looked very put together, but felt like comfortable home wear, with lots of room for a food baby belly ;)
Loki didn't break down the Christmas tree, which was nice. I still have our Christmas tree standing in the living room. It is a small tree, but this year Vincent and I decorated it so nicely that it breaks my heart to break it down... I also got a cute camera ornament to hang in the tree :)
A present to myself was a photography book from Lindsay Adler, which I have been reading ever since I got it :)
