SMOONSTYLE

When I don't know what make up to wear, I always go back to my 'fail-save-look'. It is a universally flattering look, inspired by pin-up make up.

There is probably no woman that doesn't have a red lipstick in their make up drawer. Normally I would use a liquid lipstick. In this case, because it involves eating somewhat oily and greasy food, it is better to use a more emollient red lipstick. They are easier to reapply. Just my two scents.

Here are the products that I used to create this look.

Base
Revlon Colorstay 180 Sand Beige
Concealer Tarte Shape Tape in Light Neutral

Brows
MAC COSMETICS Strawberry Blond pencil and Fluidline Browcreme in Dirty Blond
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows in Clear

Cheeks
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge Cabo Coral
Zoeva Shy Beauty
Becca Shimmering Skin perfector 'Opal'

Eyes
The Body Shop Bronzer 01
Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow in Kitten Karma
Stila eyeliner
Maybelline The Falsies Push up Angel in waterproof
Fake eyelashes KISS

Lips

I love it when I got mail from Linda Hallberg. She is insanely talented and also a lovely person. When I opened Metallic Mysteries, my first response was wow! Gamma and Collision scream my name.

It hurt a bit to swatch these babies. The 3D print is so gorgeous, but I had to give you all a look on how they swatch. On the left, the colors are applied 'dry' and on the right wet. Collision will be part of my Christmas make-up! Already started to play with them and will post a look later.

Metallic Mysteries is cruelty-free and vegan.

Thanks Lin for thinking of me!

Inspired by MAC Cosmetics cult lipsticks, five scents were made. Creme de Nude appealed to me the most. During the beginning of the European tour I went to a MAC store and decided to finally buy it. I have been tempted to get this scent a couple of times, but always refrained. This time I had my pro card with me and that meant 30% off the normal price. They only had one of the Creme de Nude Shadescents left. That probably means that it is a popular.

A friend of mine is extremely talented when it comes to describing scents. I am not so I will copy what is written on the website: "A scent capturing the vibrant sexiness of clean, radiant, glowing skin through a cocoon of velvet musk."

A mouthful, but it does describe the character of the perfume. It has a warm, fuzzy feel to it, like wearing a warm jumper.

I have been wearing this perfume almost all the time from the moment I purchased it. When I wear it now, it takes me back to the great memories that I gathered during our tour with Myrath and Vuur.

Did any of you try the shade scents?

The baking season has started. Honestly, I always bake. In autumn and winter a bit more than normal. But let's face it. My oven is always working.

One of my favorite YouTubers, Funnypilgrim/Yummypilgrim shared a lovely gingerbread man recipe that I wanted to try. On the hunt for the spices I went. Sold out everywhere. We all got the baking fever and so it took me a while to get the spices. In my spice drawer I found some old 'Lebkuchen Gewürz' and decided to take the chance.

For this lovely Gingerbread cake and cake pops you will need:

THE CAKE
  • 220g flour
  • 100g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp gingerbread spices
  • Dash of salt
  • 50ml oil (I use sunflower oil)
  • 50g apple sauce or one egg in case you are vegan
  • 50g molasses
  • 100ml water or dairy-free milk

THE GLAZE
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam
  • 1 tbsp of water
  • 100g molten dark chocolate (vegan or non-vegan)

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius.
Mix the dry ingredients and then add the wet ingredients.

Place the batter in the oven for about 30 to 40 minutes and always check with a tooth pick to see if it comes out clean when you pierce it in the middle.

Now we get to the cake pop part. My cake was not very pretty because I couldn't get it out of the baking tin. It looked quite destroyed. I cut off the top, bottom and sides to turn it into a rectangular shape. The left over cake I crumbled and mixed with a little bit of marmelade. Just enough to bind the crumbs together.

Melt the chocolate of your choice, it can be milk, semi sweet or even white chocolate. It's up to you! Since I had milk chocolate on hand, I went for that option.

I decorated the cake and added some chopped almonds, amaretti cookies and cranberries! Delicious! For the cake pops I went a little crazy and used all the fun toppings that I still had at home.

My tip for cake pops would be to first dunk the sticks in the molten chocolate and then push them in the cake balls. Let them cool upside down in the fridge for 10 minutes before you add the chocolate and decorate them.

The video for the cake you can find here: Cake
Mira (funnypilgrim) also has her own cookbook 'Yummy Kitchen' available (in German).

After my first shoot in New York, I've thought for a long time when I would plan some shoots during this European tour. During the beginning of a tour I like to take time to get into the tour rhythm and see how it all feels. I wanted to wait a bit before announcing more events, but now I have four dates for you!

24/11    Barcelona, Spain
26/11    Lyon, France
1/12      Bologna, Italy
2/12      Pratteln, Switzerland

These are the four dates where I can fit in one session in each city. Depending on if it is with a make up or only a photoshoot with minimal make up (bit of powder and grooming only if needed). Guys and girls are welcome!

I am looking forward to photograph your faces! For price inquiry, please send an email to: smoonstyleevents@gmail.com.

Greetings,
Simone

When it comes to handbags, I rather go for a nice small size that is just big enough for my phone, wallet and passport. I am not a medium kind of girl. When I want to have more with me than just the vital items, I go for a large size in which I can carry my whole life. Something a lot of women tend to do. The bigger the bag, the more we tend to take with us. Call me Marry Poppins. I even travel with my own light. ;)

Picard has been one of my favorite brands where you know the quality is good and the price is not too high. They have a huge selection of hand bags. One line that caught my eye was the shopper from the 'Miranda' line.

It comes in three sizes and five shades, of course I went for the biggest in black. Black will fit to almost everything. A big part of my wardrobe is black. I own all shades of black. Did I say that I like black?

I could fit my whole living room in there, if I wanted to. It is simple, yet sophisticated. The kind of bag I have been looking for a while now. You can wear it cross body because it has a shoulder strap. Because it has an angular shape, I can easily put it on top of my carry on suitcase.

What is your favorite brand of handbags?

The last day of the North American tour was extra special because I've started a project where I am doing photoshoots along with a make up of your personal preference (natural, evening, or stage make up).

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to announce a very special event to mark the end of a successful tour. One of my favorite cities in USA would be New York, so it's THE perfect place for a very EXCLUSIVE MAKEUP & PHOTO SESSION WITH ME AT TIMES SQUARE!!

Glossy lids is something I have been into lately. Whether it is glossy looking or actual gloss. You might have seen the post Glossy Lids and Glowy Skin.

To find a product that works for you can be a struggle. It often looks gorgeous for editorial purposes, but is very rarely comfortable to wear and also chances for it to be long wearing are also very slim.

The color of the summer of 2017 is orange. Good for me! I can bust out all the orange lipsticks and clothing items. Time to rock that orange.

It is time for something refreshing! Lately, I haven't been in the mood to bake or cook. Ice cream and ice pops have been getting my full attention. We get so many lovely fruits in this season and they are perfect ingredients to keep our heads cool during the tropical summer days we've been experiencing.

Here is a cute little helper that has transformed my eyeslashes from nice to amazing in only a matter of seconds. I am talking about the Tweezerman Ilashcomb. When I heard Lena (Meyer-Landrut) talk about how she can't live without her lashcomb, I went online and ordered it myself.

These pretty beauty items almost didn't make it to this blog post. Being a little stuffed from my cold, I forgot to take my bag of Sephora goodies with me to the second restaurant.

I am currently trying out a new blogger app called BlogTouch Pro for my iPad and iPhone. So far I like it! The old Blogpress wasn't cutting it for me. This is my first post trying it out. Sometimes I would like to write a quick post, but can't be bothered to open my big 15-inch laptop.

When it comes to lining my eyes, I have been reaching for kajal more than liquid liners. They are easier to work with and more forgiving when you want to try out a nice smoky wing.

It truly rarely happens that Oliver tells me he likes the lipstick that I am wearing, especially when it isn't a nude color. Mostly, he runs far away when I try to give him a colorful kiss. I was really surprised when he told me he liked the lipstick.

Japan has been a country that we've all been waiting for a long time to travel to. After 15 years, we finally managed to set up an exciting mini tour of three shows: Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. We added Taiwan and also another new country, South Korea.

There is something very enticing about the make up products from Charlotte Tilbury. The design is right up my alley. The combination of rose gold and bordeaux make it feel so luxuriously vintage. The price tag is quite high, but she does deliver good quality products.

Hello lovelies,

Yesterday I posted this picture on my Instagram and a lot have asked for more details on the make up. I thought ahead and also tried to photograph flat lay style with the beauty products that I slapped on my face.
