Hi Sweets,

Rossmann, DM and the German pharmacies are some of my favorite places to shop. I could spend hours there if I would be given the chance. My latest shopping spree was a quick one and I just grabbed the things that were on my list.

Aussie is a renowned hair care brand and hyped on the beauty blogs. It has been available in Germany since only a couple of months. I got myself a sample to try before buying another bottle that will clog my bathroom. If I really like it, I can always buy the full size when other products are empty.

La Roche-Posay is a French pharmacy brand that has been part of our German pharmacies for a long time. I am also using their Effaclar K for my oily t zone and quite like it. Jojo from My Simple Life posted a photo on Instagram about a deodorant without aluminum, I had to get it. Thanks Jojo!

Rival de Loop's fruit peeling has gotten great reviews and landed in my basket because the price is just unbeatable. I believe it was around €2.

P2 'Lost in Paradise' was a typical case of 'high street cosmetic brands copying high end brands'. You get the same color, but for ten times less the price. Chanel has a very beautiful duo chrome nail polish in their summer collection called 'Azure'. P2 'Lost in Paradise' is quite similar and the perfect blue metallic for hot summer days.

Aussi 3 Minute Miracle Hair Mask, La Roche- Posay deodorant, Rival de Loop peeling, P2 Lost in Paradise nail polish.

Hi Sweets,

Manhattan has collaborated with the German fashion Designer Marcel Ostertag and have come up with a lovely, colorful collection. Last year in July, I saw one of his fashion shows and was really impressed. I picked up one eyeshadow palette from the collection which consists out of 4 different eyeshadow palettes and 6 nail polishes.

'Girl with a Rose' is a gorgeous eyeshadow palette which only costs €5. The packaging is lovely and super light weight. It is easy to travel with. The eyeshadows are pigmented, but have little fall out when applying them. If you are looking for an affordable dupe for Estee Lauder's 'Raizins' eyeshadow duo, you might like this palette. It is not an exact dupe, but comes close enough.

The collection will still be available for about 4 months in German drugstores.

  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum 51
  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer 52
  • Marcel Ostertag for Manhattan 'Girl with a Rose' eyeshadow palette
  • Manhattan Eyemazing eyeliner
  • Catrice eyebrow pencil 010
  • Catrice Love and Peach blush
  • Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick 14 Rich Rose
  • Maybelline the Rocket mascara

Did anyone of you pick up something from this collection?

Love,

Hello Sweets,

Chanel's 'Chance Eau Tendre' is my scent for the spring. Since I am not that good at describing scents I will give tell you what the notes are that create this heavenly fragrance.

  • Top: grapefruit, melon, quince
  • Heart: hyacinth, jasmine
  • Base: iris, white musk, virginia cedar, amber

For me it has the perfect balance between fruity with depth. Some summer and spring scents are too fruity. Chanel's Chance Eau Tendre definitely has personality. If the 'Eau Tendre' is not your thing, you might like it's sister: 'Eau Fraiche'.

Go have a sniff when you have the chance and try it out on your skin to see how it develops. Each fragrance turns out different with each person.

Love,

Hello sweets,

Last week I had to go to Cologne for business. When I arrived at the train station, I first made a quick stop to get my favorite from Starbucks: Carrot Cake. It is so dangerously delicious! When I was standing in line to pay, a guy asked me if he could take some pictures of me. Since I had a couple of spare minutes, I agreed.

Hi Sweets,

Who doesn't like to pamper herself, himself every once in a while after a long day? I wasn't such a big fan of lathering on the lotions and oils after taking showers, but now that I have done it for over half a year, I can clearly notice a difference in my skin. The nice side effect is that it is like a little spa treatment which you can do from the comfort of your own home. You don't have to worry about bumping into your neighbor or colleague looking like a steaming strawberry.

Here are the two luxurious products I am absolutely loving at the moment and can totally recommend to you.

L'occitane's 'Firming and smoothing supple skin oil' is quite the mouthful. I just call it 'Almond Oil'. I am a huge fan of their almond range and have used their face cream until it was discontinued. Their shower oil and body milk are currently living in my bath room. As far as the oil; a little goes a long way. You really don't need much. It is absorbed in the skin nicely and the scent is the same as all the other almond products from L'occitane. I am using this mainly on my growing belly and that is an area which I completely neglected in the past. This oil does really keep my skin moisturized and ready for the months to come.

Laura Mercier's Body Souffle in 'Ambre Vanille' is one of the most gorgeous scents ever. I've fallen in love with this last year when I was touring with EPICA in North America. In America they are very generous when it comes to handing out samples. After seeing the price, I first got a sample. It is quite the investment, so you really have to love it in order to splurge. You can buy these also in a set. I got mine in a set which I bought together with friend. Like this they are not too expensive. You can guess which is the other scent that I have in my closet.

I normally like to eat vanilla pudding, but nothing vanilla scented. It often triggers headaches or stomach roller coaster rides, but not this. It is divine! I use this very sparingly, more like a perfume. I like to rub it on my wrists, arms and neck so I can enjoy the scent without 'wasting' the product and giving everybody else a headache. The scent is quite strong and lasts really long. For a body lotion it can become a bit overwhelming. When I sum everything up, it looks more like I bought this for the scent. There are definitely better body lotions out there that won't kill your wallet.

Whenever I am using a body lotion to actually moisturize my whole body, I use a drugstore body lotion from Balea. It is inexpensive and still my favorite body lotion. I have gone through about 10 of those already over the last couple of years and will be repurchasing it for as long as I like it.

Hope this was helpful. Let me know what your favorite luxury body care products are!

Hi Sweets,

Luckily for me no jetlag. We had a very long flight back from Jakarta to Amsterdam with a 5 hour delay. That meant that I missed my flight to Stuttgart and therefor had to wait another 5 hours at Schiphol for my flight back to Schwarzwald. Coming home was like heaven. One of the things I enjoy so much is the silence, my own pillow and of course having my loved ones near.

During the last months, my posts were mainly about traveling and Retrospect. This month I want to post a couple of 'Face of the Day's' which will be called 'Face of May'.

Today's a very casual day:

The products used for this look:

  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in 51'Light Vanilla'
  • Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer nr. 52
  • Sleek blush trio in 373 (only the blush)
  • MAC Viva Glam Cindy Lipgloss
  • Stila Kitten eyeshadow
  • Estee Lauder Sumptuous extreme
  • Catrice 010 Blond but Brow'd

Wish you all a wonderful day!
