SMOONSTYLE

Water infused with lemons, cucumber and a bit of fresh mint are my favourite drink to quench my thirst during these hot summer days. So refreshing!

The Body Shop now has two new yummy summer editions: Zesty Lemon and Cool Cucumber! They smell so good, you almost want to eat it! Better not do that ;) Promise me, ok?

The line carries their famous Body Butter, Body Scrub, Body Yoghurt, Shower Gel and hand creme (not in the photo, because it is in my handbag).

My favourite is the Cool Cucumber, it has a little bit of menthol in it. Our bed room gets really hot during summer and I am always looking for ways to stay cool during the night. The Body Butter is a great new way for me and it smells divine too. Vincent also loves it.

The Body Shop is cruelty free and all products are vegan. What I also love about these products is that they used ingredients that might not look that pristine anymore for sale, but are great to use for ingredients and don't go to waste. The Zesty Lemon line is made from second choice lemons from Italy and organic almond milk from Spain. The Cool Cucumber line is made of second choice cucumbers from Europe and shea butter from Ghana.

Body Butter €17,00
Body Yogurt €10,00
Body Scrub €18,00
Shower Gel €7,00
Hand creme €8,00

The Body Shop

Did you try products from The Body Shop? I used their Moringa Body Butter and it lasted me a long time.  Another great products are the Banana Shampoo and Conditioner. Great for dry hair!

All lemon- and cucumber slices were used for my summer drink after the photoshoot was done. They didn't end up in the trash ;)

Happy International Kiss Day!

Since 15 years, L'Oréal Paris has been supporting the DKMS LIFE  'Look Good Feel Better' campaign. The DKMS LIFE offers free make up seminars for women that are battling cancer. L'Oréal has been providing make up products, donating money as well as connecting the DKMS Life with make up artist for the make up seminars. I want to show my support as well as I have witnessed what cancer does to women when I was attending the DKMS Dreamball for the last couple of years. It made me realise what is most important in life and that is your health.

My #whishforagoodcause is: 'Just one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.'
I am a firm believer in positive thinking and that is has a healing effect on our mental and physical health.

The same goes with a little color in my face. It brightens my mood. A little color can go a long way, just like positive thoughts, wouldn't you agree?

Are you ready for a kiss proof giveaway?

5 of my loyal Smoonstyle readers can win the new range of the Matte Lip Crayons! 6 Gorgeous red and pink shades that are ultra matte, super light weight and 100% kiss proof.

All you need to do is write a comment and tell me what your favourite lipstick color and finish is (matte or glossy).

The winners will be announced in the comments on the 10th of July.

Good luck!

Why are brows so important?

Brows are the frames of our face. They enhance your features and can completely change your whole look.
When you make contact with someone you look them in the eyes, so the brows should also get a little extra love.

As a redhead I have struggled to find the right products for my brows. My problem was that the products that are aimed for redheads are often too red toned. Anastasia Beverly Hills has a pomade for redheads, but it is too red and makes my brows stand out from the rest of my face.

What works best for me are warm toned browns that are mostly aimed for blondes. Years ago (2013) I used an eyebrow pencil from Catrice, but that is discontinued unfortunately. I managed to get a couple pencils on Ebay and a lovely fan gifted me one. Catrice Brow Pencil
I started to search for new products that could replace my favourite eyebrow pencil.

MAC COSMETICS launched more brow products a while ago and that was right at the moment where my last Catrice pencil was running out. These are the products that I have been using ever since and haven't found a better or more affordable alternative.

I start with the Strawberry Blonde Veluxe Brow liner (first photo of my face) and then I perfect the edges with the Fluid Brow Gel Creme in 'Dirty Blonde'. To lift my eyebrows and tame the unruly long eyebrow hairs the I have, I use a clear brow gel.  Some of my favourites are from Charlotte Tilbury, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, L'Oréal Paris and many more. Soap brows are not for me. I can't get it right and it looks nowhere near what Nikki Wolf creates. I just use soap to wash my body and leave it at that for now. Maybe one day I will try it again, but for now they remain somewhere in the back of my make up drawer.

Another great tool that you need to apply gel cremes are angled brushes. One of my favourite make up brushes because you can also use it for eyeliner as well.

The best angled brushes that I use to apply the brow gel creme is are from Linda Hallberg Cosmetics #333 and Jacks Beauty Line #4. I also use these to apply my gel eyeliner to get a super sharp cat eye.

What are your holy grail eyebrow products?
