SMOONSTYLE

Hello Sweets,

A highly requested look has finally arrived on Smoon'Style.

This is one of my most used looks for Epica shows. It is easy and quick. You don't need many products and the products that I've used are easily dupable. You can already make this look with only few products and personalize it to your liking.

Last Sunday I decided to shoot some pictures for the blog and was just in time to watch Tatort, feeling a bit weird because I felt like I had to go on stage. I had to do it in a very short time and I apologize because it is not that perfect. Normally when I prepare for an Epica show I like to take one hour to prepare for the show.

I never wear this much make up in real life, not even when I go out at night. This look is great for shows and photo shoots. For every day life I prefer softer looks.

The key products for this look are;
  • A creamy black base (MAC paint pot, Maybelline 24 hours tattoo, Nyx Jumbo Pencil, eye kohl)
  • A black, grey and a very pigmented silver eyeshadow or pigment
  • Your favorite nude lipstick
  • Your choice of contour powder and blush
  • Fake eyelashes are optional, I only use them for shoots and shows
  • Some silver/white glitter if you like
  • Concealer, foundation and eyebrow products should be the ones that you always use

The products that I used;
  • Dior Forever Foundation in 010 Ivory
  • MAC Harmony blush as a contour
  • MAC Style blush on the apples of the cheeks
  • MAC Blackground Paint Pot
  • Chanel Illusoin D'Ombre in 85 Mirifique (I've done stage looks with only this product)
  • Sleek Graphite palette for the black eyeshadow
  • MAC Copperplate eyeshadow to smoke out the edges
  • MAC Feline Kohl Power
  • Astor eyebrow pencil in Gold Blond
  • My Face Gigabite lipstick in 152 Vintage Pink
  • MAC Silver Dusk highlighting powder
  • MAC eyelashes in 35 (I've used them before and cut them a bit) Don't recommend these, I prefer 44 or 7.
Didn't add mascara to the lower lashes yet....
There we go, much better!
Excuse the red eye.
Unbrushed eyebrows...

Love,
a Smokey Smoon

Hello Sweets,

Last weekend I went hiking at the Titisee and Schluchsee in Germany. I can honestly say that those were the most beautiful and peaceful walks I've ever made. I was enjoying every second of it.

We were really lucky because the weather was amazing, 16 degrees Celsius and sunny.

I bought Lowa hiking boots to make sure that my feet would survive the Blackwood Forest. Some of you might have seen them already on my Instagram (smoonstyle) account.

Don't you just love nature?

Hi Blog Babes,

It is time for a 'nail of a couple of days ago'.

I have this beautiful green top from Vero Moda which I wore for my interview with Imusic1 tv, last Tuesday. I paired it with a nice black blazer from the Canadian clothing brand Tristan, little black skirt and stockings from my favorite brand 'Calzedonia'. For my nails I wanted to have exactly the same color as the top. After a thorough search, I finally found the right color.

Meet 'Hunter' from American Apparel, a lovely dark green cream with a glossy finish;

I find that this nail polish has quite a unique color. I haven't seen anything like it, and do not own something similar in my collection, which could be called 'Elephantine'. I have so many polishes that I could paint all the nails of the people in my village, guys included.

Love,

Hi Sweets,

Our latest record 'Requiem for the Indifferent' will be out really soon!

On the 9th of March it will hit the stores and if you are impatient and can't wait, our newest single 'Storm the Sorrow' is already available on iTunes. It is one of my absolute favorites from the album. We've just recorded the video in Amsterdam and it was the hardest recording ever. Every muscle in my body is aching right now, but that's alright because it was worth it.

We are planning a fun make up contest for the girls. More info on that in a few days.

I wanted to share three behind the scenes pictures with you from our official 'RFTI' photo shoot which we did with Stefan Heilemann. I've done many other photo shoots with him. One of my pictures which was made by Stefan can be purchased in his 2012 calendar.

Hello Sweets,

For the last two weeks I've been traveling to Paris, Amsterdam, Milano and London to promote our latest record 'Requiem for the Indifferent'. A nice bonus for me was that I would be in London at the right time to attend IMATS. Last year I couldn't make it because I was away with EPICA.

The lovely Marie joined me to brave the cold and breathe in a new make up experience at IMATS. I was very excited to finally go and very happy that she decided to come with.

Now you will see some pictures of this lovely day we had at the Alexandra Place in Wood Green.

Marie's and my new treasures.
There we go!
I love the location.
A Mac artist at work.
Leonardo Dicaprio growing older.
Le-Old.
Beth Ditto and me reunited since Pinkpop. She is so lovely!
a Lovely lady.
Patience is a virtue. At the end you'll have a real piece of art.
Scary guy did his own make up.
New inspiration for next year's Day of the Dead.

For the next couple of posts, I will include some of my purchases. Illamasqua had the best offer of whole IMATS. The foundations were 7,50 pounds. The eyeshadows/nailpolish/pigments/lipsticks/powder and cream blusher were 5 pounds each and the eye pencils 2 pounds! Isn't that a bargain?

I surely think so!

Swatchful kisses,

Hello Sweets,

On the 15th of January, we decided to do some sight seeing with our family. The South of Germany has many greats sights to offer and I am working really hard on getting to know my new 'home town' a bit better.

Here you can see 'Burg Hohenzollern'. It was build in the 19th Century for King Friedrich Wilhelm the 4th from Prussia. The castle lies on a mountain which is 855 meters high. You have a wonderful view over the mountains. It feels like you are in a fairy tale.

If you ever come to the South of Germany, I can totally recommend paying a visit to the Castle. The entrance is 5 euros for walking around the castle, if you want to enter and join a tour through the castle (which I totally recommend), the price lies at 10 euros.

I do want to warn you that even if you go in summer, the castle is extremely cold inside. Take a sweater with you and wear closed shoes.

Castle kisses,

Hi sweets,

Who doesn't like fairytales? Some of my all time favorites is Little Red Riding Hood.

Some of my favorite actresses is Amanda Seyfried. She has a face I could look at for hours. Lovely lady. She has something extraterrestrial. When I heard about the movie Red Riding Hood, I immediately ordered it.

Here is a make up look inspired by Amanda's look in the movie and also by Lisa Eldridge. I think I look a bit between a mix of Red Riding Hood, 'Those we do not speak of' and a boxer... I'm not wearing a cape, but my ever so soft bathing robe, which happens to have the perfect color.

What I'm wearing;
  • MAC studio fix in NW20
  • MAC Raizin blush as eyeshadow and blush
  • MAC Dubonnet as a lip stain
  • Urban Decay Dark Horse as an eye liner
  • Chanel Inimitable Intense mascara
  • MAC Black Track as a tight line (upper water line)
  • Astor Eyebrow pencil in Gold Brown

Hope you like it!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here's my latest liquid addiction; David Rio's Power Chai (tea).

I have my neighbor to thank for my latest drinking habits. She introduced me to the 'Chai Latte' about a year ago. It didn't take long for me to buy my own 'little' (400gram) container which was empty in no time.

Since I like it so much, I bought the 1,4 kilo package, which is now proudly standing in the kitchen. I bought it at Amazon.de. Here is the American link: Amazon.com.

How I fix my drink;
  • 3 tea spoons of powder
  • Hot water
  • Shot of milk (can be cold or hot)

It can be made with only milk, but I prefer the lighter version. It can also be enjoyed cold. Whatever is to your liking.

Enjoy!

Love,

Good morning!

Here's a new post of my 'Best of' series and it concerns lip balm. Next up will be Tinted Lip Balm.

Winter time isn't particularly nice for our lips. Some people suffer from severely chapped lips. I myself can't live without a good lip balm. I'm always on the look out for the perfect formula that feels great, tastes and smells good.

Yesterday I split my lip for the very first time. I was too rough with rubbing my foundation off with a dry tissue. Luckily I have found the best lip balm for me. It is a lip balm from 'Forever Living', called Aloe Lips. Here is the link to the Dutch version; Forever Living Dutch

It was a present from Elise and I am forever grateful to her. The formula is just perfect, the scent is not to strong. It leaves my lips smooth, soft and shiny and even boyfriends/girlfriends will love this. You'll be forever kissable when you use this product. My split lip healed in no time, thanks to the healing power of Aloe.

Aloe Kisses,
